i HATE when people say atheism is a religion.
Atheism means no theism. non-theist. “a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings.”
religion; “The belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, esp. a personal God or gods.”
in no way shape or form is that any kind of religion.
My religions teacher is always calling atheism and agnostic a religion. Far from it, especially with people who are agnostic…how do you call someone who doesn’t either accept nor reject something and therefor puts it out of their minds in a “religion”…when it’s not even a topic of interest to them? You can’t. And as for atheism, it’s not a religion because we don’t meet up weekly and talk about how much we don’t read the bible, or don’t believe in God.
But my religions teacher gave me a 100% on my paper I turned in a week late because I look like an adorable Christian girl so I will just not argue.
Aside of this one (which became my favorite), the second best one is:
Atheism is a religion in just the same way as bald is a hair color.
